How do I determine the ReForma size and color that is right for me?
Reforma Logo

You can order ReForma in two sizes—2.25” diameter or 1.5” diameter. It depends on your natural areola size, and your preference. Most women prefer 2.25” diameter.

You can use a ruler to measure how large or small you want your nipple to be.

ReForma is available in three colors: Light, Medium and Dark. To decide the color that is right for you, simply look at the three color samples on the order page, and choose your color. Most women prefer Medium.

ReFormas have a translucent quality, so your natural color will blend with ReForma to provide you with your own unique skin tone.

Can I wear ReForma over my Nipple Reconstruction?
Yes. 15% of ReForma clients are women who are cosmetically dissatisfied with the results of their nipple reconstruction. Press ReForma right over your nipple. ReForma will fit snugly and stay there.

What size ReForma do I order if I have unilateral reconstruction?
Generally we recommend that you order the 2.25” diameter ReForma. You can cover your existing nipple on the non-reconstruction breast, and then the reconstructed breast ReForma will match perfectly. You can also measure the existing nipple, and if the areola size is smaller than 1.5” diameter (the width from one edge to the other), you can order the 1.5” ReForma.

What are ReFormas made from?
ReFormas are made from high grade silicone in a United States medical quality factory with an ISO 9000 rating, the highest quality standard. The adhesive surface is hypo-allergenic and took two years to develop.

With painstaking attention to detail, thousands of hours were spent in a laboratory pouring over available ingredients, pigments, adhesives and compounds. Prototypes were tested again and again by real life patients and their input led to more and more improvements. Female focus groups spent hours discussing nipple projection, texture, color, and feel. A whole new manufacturing process was developed to give the nipple the natural look and feel that the patients desired.

How long do ReForma last?
From two to four months of daily use. How long they will last for you depends on how well you care for them. Return ReFormas to their dome when not in use. Most women keep the ReFormas in the box in their dresser. Keep your ReFormas, especially the back, safe from any oils, powders, debris, or lanoline products that will foul the self-sticking adhesive. If this happens, try washing them. The patented silicone adhesive can oftentimes be rescued.

You can wash ReForma with some warm water and a little mild liquid dish detergent. Rub them between your fingers, rinse, and shake them dry. Leave them upside down until they are fully dry, and then return them to their Home Dome.

Can I sleep in ReForma?
Yes, but they may come off. Some women report that during the normal tossing and turning of a night’s sleep and hand movements, they have peeled ReForma off their skin. Don’t worry if this happens. Just make sure you clean the adhesive surface if it contracts lint or cloth particles.

Dr. Luis Vinas
Dr. Vinas has been practicing medicine for 30 years, 23 years devoted to the practice of plastic surgery.

Like other Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Vinas knew that there was no cosmetic nipple prosthetic worth offering to a patient.

Dr. Vinas put together his team: a Biomedical Engineer and a Chemical Engineer from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, a top Hollywood make up artist, and several of his breast reconstruction patients. Their goal: to create a beautiful and practical cosmetic prosthetic nipple to end the dilemma of breast reconstruction patients.

The cosmetic prosthetic nipple had to be as lifelike as possible. It had to be thin, resilient, hypo allergenic, and self-adhesive. It had to be capable of absorbing custom textured coloration so that it matched the different skin tones of women and gave them the most natural look and feel possible. And it had to be reusable so women could afford it.

After a two year development process, in December of 2007, everybody involved agreed: ReForma was perfect and ready for use by women everywhere.

One of the very first women to try ReForma thanked us for our long task with words that will always stay with our company:

“Dr. Vinas, for the first time in ten years, I feel whole again.”

Dr. Vinas is a recognized expert in the breast and breast surgery. He is a nationally recognized innovator of new plastic surgery techniques and currently is developing the Plastic Surgery Division for Harmonic Ethicon, a division of Johnson and Johnson, that is bringing the space age ultrasonic Harmonic Scalpel to the forefront in Plastic Surgery. Dr. Vinas trains other plastic surgeons in the use of this new and exciting technology which decreases a patient’s trauma, bleeding and down time dramatically.
